Company Focus - Florence by mills

Given this company’s values and expected success in the coming months, I would strongly suggest that AMDP invest in the beauty company Florence by mills. This is a makeup, skincare, and all things beauty company that is founded by actress and celebrity, Millie Bobbie Brown. Florence is a cruelty free and vegan company that places emphasis on ethical business and self expression.


Throughout this proposal I will discuss the following:

  • Company Background & Morals

  • Founder Background

  • Projected Success and Challenges

  • Reason for Investment



Triple Bottom Line: TBL means placing focus on the world around us and the people around us as a business rather than just profitability and direct impact.

Corporate Social Responsibility: CSR means placing focus on the environmental and social impact of a business and striving to work in the best interest of those focuses in hopes to also create some kind of positive impact.

Social Enterprise: This structure of doing business focuses on revenue and solving social or environmental issues simultaneously through the sale of their product or service.

Carbon Footprint:

  1. Definition: Carbon footprint can be defined as an environmental impact in greenhouse gas emissions caused by an individual, business, product, or entity.

  2. How do you measure: Carbon footprint can be measured in three different scopes (direct, indirect from energy, and other indirect emissions). 

  3. Why does it matter: Carbon footprint matters for a business as it impacts reputation, costs, and climate. Reducing carbon footprint can help the environment while reducing expenses.

  “Trees of Life” - Choice 1 Throughout my life thus far, a tree that I have connected with are evergreens. While my current place of living does not allow for this interaction. Every time I go home, I am greeted by beautiful evergreens in my home town and even in my back yard. I have interacted with these kinds of trees since I was a small child because my father also loved them. He made a point to plant them in our backyard because he loved their appearance and for additional privacy; however, we already had some in our yard when we moved in because our home is located in a wooded area. Blog 10 - Random Blog Post 1

My father had a liver transplant three months ago. I cannot believe that it has been three months already. It has been three months since my father was given another chance at life, another chance to be a father, a husband. Another chance to just be a person. My father was given an estimate that there was a 50% chance he would have died in a month given the current state of his liver disease. This was a statistic I somehow wasn’t ready for. All I remember growing up was the constant fear I felt for my father's life. The first thing I would do when I came home from school everyday was make sure that he was still breathing. So why did this time carry more weight? Why did this statistic shatter my world?  At this point my father has been sober for several years, but had been carrying the weight of his consequences in the form of a liver disease.
