 BLOGGING On Assignment: Your Choice

“A Day in the Life” As A College Super Senior

Overview

It is really hard for me to give a day in the life in the current positon I am in because each day in my week looks very different. Given that I am currently a super-senior who has already graduated and walked the stage, I am currently finishing up some credits to earn my degree while working three other jobs. I think for the purposes of making this assignment accurate and beneficial for me to look back on, I think it would be more beneficial to break down a day in my life throughout the week rather than just one singular day. This will all make sense as to why by the end of this blog post.

Mondays & Wednesdays

To begin, each week on Mondays and Wednesdays, I attend classes at the University of Southern California (obviously). However, even my Mondays and Wednesdays look a bit different. Given that I live in lower Hollywood and do not have a car, it takes me about two hours to commute to USC via bus. That is how I start my day anytime I am going to campus. Early Monday mornings, I come into my work study job to fulfill my role as a production assistant for the classical department of the Thornton School of Music. This shift requires an all black production uniform and about two and a half hours of my time. Here I ensure the artist that booked the hall has everything that they need to rehearse and the proper set up that they require. This work study shift is a new shift I picked up for the month of November. I have worked there for the last two and a half years and as this semester concludes, so will my position in this role. From there I have a bit of a break before I attend Writ 340. After class, I take another two hour bus ride back home where I then hop on my computer to work from home at my job with Live Nation. On Mondays, I typically work 2:30 pm - 7:30 pm with Live Nation. I worked on the Artist Services in the Venue Nation Department. I function as an administrator helping to oversee the logistics and research that goes into creating positive and memorable experiences for artists in Live Nation owned and operated venues / backstage spaces. In one of my recent blog posts, I also talked about the rock band that I manage. The band is called The Finz, and we have our weekly meetings on Mondays at 8:30 pm. After that I typically watch Harry Potter with my roommates as has been taking us much time to get through the series in chronological order. I try to multi-task and get some more school work done if necessary during this time and then I head off to bed. However, on Wednesdays, I do not have the work study job. I come into Writ 340 after the bus and then go to my Social Analysis gen-ed lecture from 3:30 pm  - 4:50 pm. From there, I have a bit of a break before I conclude my day with my Music Supervision course from 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm, followed by a Waymo as my mode of transportation home for the night.

Tuesdays & Thursdays

My Tuesday and Thursdays are almost the same in terms of my schedule. I have either been going into office at Live Nation for work both of these days each week or just one or the other so it really depends. A deciding factor of wheter or not I go in is usually if there is a package or project that needs to be put together or shipped out from Los Angeles. Otherwise, my team all works remotely being based out of many different places in the U.S. Regardless, I work from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm there before moving on with my day. I do love going into office though for two huge reasons: one being that it is dog friendly and everyone brings in their dogs and the second being that they have a free coffee and drink bar and the coffees are incredible. On Tuesdays, I always watch Dancing With The Stars as they air with my roommates and some friends. On  Thursdays, I will typically get some extra rest in or catch up on work that is due on Friday.

Fridays

On Fridays, I work from home for Live Nation during the same hours, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. Most people in the music industry are pretty relaxed on Friday’s so it is not always super busy but I still try to get a lot accomplished. Since I do a lot of research tasks, I sometimes watch tv in the background or listen to music while I am working to keep me focused. Later on I will go out with my friends on Friday nights or I will host something. We host pre-games and parties quite often because my roommates are pretty social which is a nice break from the busy week. I like to get some rest in as well so I don’t go out every weekend, but it has been nice these last couple of weeks. For instance, my roommates birthday is this weekend so we are hosting a wig themed party. I have a lot left to accomplish this week with work and school, but spending time with my friends at the end of the week is always a huge motivating factor.

Saturdays & Sundays

On Saturdays and Sundays, I like to make the most of my time by either decompressing or being productive. Some weekends, I will prioritize rest and wellness, while others I wil prioritze working. I also prioritize going out and having a good time with friends other weekends or even just finding new activities if they are cheap. I try to save money on the weekends as much as possible not having to be anywhere, but it is sometimes necessary to do anything. One thing I love to do over the weekends when I am financially able is go to the flea markets that are only open on the weekends such as Silver Lake Flea, Melrose Trading Post, and Los Feliz Flea. Overall, I listen to my body and mind to use my time wisely for what I need in my life or need to get done. However, I recently added a shift every Sunday from 10:00 am - 2:30 pm for my work study job at USC so that has been an adjustment.

  1. Great post! Many students find mathematics challenging, especially when concepts become more complex at higher levels of study. Tight deadlines and multiple subjects often make it even harder to keep up with assignments and practice problems. In such situations, searching for math assignment help can feel like a practical step for students who need extra guidance. With the right support, learners can better understand formulas, problem-solving methods, and concepts while building the confidence needed to improve their academic performance.
